Welcome to CVS NairnCVS-Nairn serves the voluntary sector in the geographical area of the past county of Nairnshire in North-east Scotland, now the Nairn Council area of Highland Region. It is a mainly rural part of the country where it is estimated that some eleven and a half thousand live.
The population of Nairn is homogeneous and has a strong set of values and a sense of place and community with a buoyant voluntary sector.
The Council for Voluntary Service, Nairn, provides practical support for the local voluntary sector, assists organisations to come together for common purposes, enables locals to gain access to the decision-making processes that affect their community and provides them with a voice that speaks on their behalf. The Council for Voluntary Service aims to present the common policies and concerns of voluntary organisations, to develop new ways of responding to need in partnership with statutory and other health, social work, education, housing, employment, environment and recreation agencies and any other concerned with the social and economic regeneration of the area and well being of the community. |
